I must allow them to grow. Like the Harry Potter series Inkheart incorporates magic that is both delightful and dark. The plot tells of a Silvertongue a person who can bring characters from book pages to life. According to the film’s Web site Inkheartmovie. com the catch is that for every character who comes alive one person in the real world gets sucked into a book becoming merely a character. Mortimer “Mo” Folchart is the Silvertongue who after reading a book titled “Inkheart” some years ago brought the villanous Capricorn and his goons to life.

It is a fantasy based on the first of a series of books by Cornelia Funke that the studio’s promotional people say are beloved. I’ve never heard of her or her book but I’m light years removed from having little ones in the house. I do however pay attention to my surroundings and I haven’t seen kids anywhere reading them. It’s not important. This is a movie and not a book review.

Rowling’s supplemental to the “Harry Potter” series “The Tales of Beedle the Bard. ” I was fortunate enough to receive a copy as a gift and upon reading it was surprised at how much I enjoyed this little book. Perhaps that was the result of lowered expectations.
