Just a few months ago, Warner yanked Potter from its November 21 date and pushed all the way into July 2009. Electronics subsequently made the same move with its game for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii based on the movie. The “official” reason for the move was to fill in a summer slate hit hard by the writer’s strike earlier this year. The irony is Warner has stated this new Potter trailer will go live in theaters attached to prints of Twilight.

Friedman moved the premiere of Twilight from Dec. 12, where he had it originally to avoid going up against Harry Potter, to the Nov. 21 slot, giving it more of a shot to catch the Thanksgiving and Christmas crowd. The movie is now up against Disney’s animated film Bolt, which is unlikely to lure the teen girls that should be Twilight’s core audience.

“Muggle” Scouts conjure world of Harry Potter

Rowling have contributed much more to society than an intricately woven world of fantasy and a half-dozen blockbuster movies. “The Harry Potter books are a constant source of amazement to kids. There’s so many lessons and role models,” said Masarik, an activities coordinator with the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore. “It’s a great platform for kids to learn about themselves. “On Saturday, at the Girl Scouts’ activity center, girls from near and far came together to immerse themselves in the Potter world for a series of activities and games that mirrored the journey of characters through the first five Potter books.
