Dan Radcliffe talks Equus & Harry Potter in radio interview
SnitchSeeker.com, CA
In it, Dan speaks about how much better the Equus production on Broadway is this year than the West End shows; how rarely he and Richard Griffiths worked together on the Harry Potter set compared to Equus; and his character Alan Strang and the relationship he has with his parents and horses. He mentions that after seeing a pantomime production of Aladdin at the age of five he wanted to be an actor, which he told his mother (who immediately said “no, you don’t”). When being cast for Harry Potter, Dan said that he first read lines two months before he was cast; he also expressed his and everyone else’s surprise at the film series’ success. Dan praises the American audience for their reaction and understanding of the play compared to the British viewers. In regards to the Equus on-stage seats, Dan states that he doesn’t acknowledge them during the play as they’re elevated twelve feet high, and therefore aren’t a distraction for him. The entire interview can be heard.

‘Scurrilous’ attack on judges thrown out of court
Globe and Mail, Canada
write(lugAC);} placeAC(”lug”); JUSTICE 'Scurrilous’ attack on judges thrown out of court KIRK MAKIN JUSTICE REPORTER November 1, 2008 A lawyer for a Winnipeg band - the Wyrd Sisters - should prepare to pay out of her own pocket for a "scurrilous" legal attack she and her clients launched against a group of judges, an Ontario Superior Court judge ruled yesterday. The Wyrd Sisters, who made headlines in 2005 when they tried to prevent the release of a Harry Potter movie based on trademark infringement, had filed a $21-million lawsuit against the judges alleging a massive conspiracy to fix the injunction case against them. Throwing out their lawsuit yesterday, Mr. Justice Charles Hackland of the Ontario Superior Court ordered the band’s lawyer, Kimberly Townley-Smith, to show cause why she should not be held personally liable for legal costs in the action. "Apart from the impropriety of attempting to be both witness and counsel, the allegations being advanced in this action against three respected members of this court - and indirectly against at least 15 other judges - constitute, in my view, a scurrilous attack on the administration of justice by a member of the bar," Judge Hackland said.
