It’s probably fair to say that right now, the world’s collection of Harry Potter fans – and we’re led to believe that there are one or two – would rather be talking about the release of the new film than being tantalised with a new trailer for it. But with Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince now firmly shunted to a July release date, this means that a brand new teaser trailer is pretty much all they’ve got. We’re quite looking forward to the film, primarily because director David Yates did such a good job with the last one, and he’s back behind the camera again now. There’s still no confirmation who’s directing the two parts of the seventh book, incidentally, but with Guillermo tackling The Hobbit, that’s our top choice out of the running…Anyway, here’s that trailer, and as you probably know, you’ve got quite a wait for the film itself. Even though it’s all but finished.

NIU to host costume ball, Potter conference

The costume ball will feature a variety of activities, including scary stories, a bean bag toss, coloring contests, live music and candy and refreshments. Officials from the NIU College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will be collecting new and used books, which will be donated to the Neighbors’ House program in DeKalb. The Halloween party also will include a silent auction, with items from area businesses and organizations and a print photograph of Harry Potter. “It’s only one of 10 prints that’s available, so there’s some interesting items,” said Mark Pietrowski, external programming director for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Pietrowski said attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite Halloween costume to the ball. “People are welcome to dress up as anything they want to - Dracula, Harry Potter or Sponge Bob Square Pants, whatever they want to dress up as,” Pietrowski said. This is the first year the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences has hosted the costume ball.

The grapevine has it that the Harry Potter actor, who has a 17-month-old son with Hart, 43, is worried about his wife”s reaction. “Michael and Philippa are delighted that she’s pregnant again, but he is very worried about what his wife thinks of all this. He says it will cause him a lot of hassle if it comes out, but his private arrangements are so complicated he can”t really expect a completely smooth ride,” British tabloid The Sun quoted a pal as saying. Gambon lives in a bachelor pad, and has a 44-year-old son with his wife. “He continues to see his wife and mistress, but is very secretive about both relationships. He may be getting on, but Michael is still a wizard with the ladies,” the pal added.
