didcock@sundayherald. As the last book in the series is published, the world is left to wonder…
That theorising will only increase over the next few days thanks to the publication on Saturday of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, the seventh and final book in Rowling’s phenomenal series. In order to cope with demand, her publishers have ordered an initial print run of 12 millions copies, and that’s just in the US. Meanwhile the film adaptation of Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix, the fifth book in the series, was released last Thursday. Rowling has said she thinks it’s the best yet. But it isn’t all good news for Potter fans. As the title of the seventh book suggests, this is the end of the line for Harry. Irish actor Michael Gambon, 67, who plays the wise old Hogwarts headmaster, is involved in an unusual love triangle with his wife of 45 years, Lady Anne Gambon, and movie set designer Philippa Hart, who's 25 years his junior and gave birth to his baby last May - a situation apparently being tolerated by both women, reports Britain's Daily Mail. The Smile singer - who split from Chemical Brothers star Ed Simons following a miscarriage - enjoyed a heart-to-heart with the 19-year-old actor over dinner at a London restaurant last week. The couple hit it off when they met at the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix premiere last year. A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "They swapped numbers then and although they texted each other quite regularly they didn't meet up. "Then when Lily split from Ed, Rupert offered her a shoulder to cry and she took it.

“The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising”

If you loathe them, blame Harry Potter. Since the little wizards big screen success, studios have been plundering the childrens sections of libraries, trying to turn up any undiscovered gems. They may have found one in Susan Coopers Newberry Award-winning The Dark Is Rising sequence of five novels, which have been around since the 1970s. Though dont expect Potter-like reverence to the source material.
