… Look at the Roles of Minor Student Characters in Harry…

Rowling has created a magical world that practically leaps off the page. Long before they ever graced the silver screen, places like Hogwarts, Gringotts, the Burrow and Diagon Alley came alive with vibrant color and intricate detail in the hearts and minds of readers across the globe. Part of what makes this world so real is the tapestry of supporting characters that are woven into the larger story of Harryâs journey as a hero. These supporting characters donât always play a big role in the progression of the storyâs plot, but they do often help the central characters grow and develop, endearing not only those characters to readers, but the magical world itself as well. A few of these supporting characters have slowly come into their own as they are featured more and more prominently with each new book. Two obvious examples are Draco Malfoy and Ginny Weasley. Draco has always been Harryâs schoolyard nemesis, but in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Dracoâs own critically important story unfolds mostly behind the scenes until its climax in Chapter 27, âThe Lightning-Struck Tower. â Likewise, Ginnyâs importance in Harryâs story came to an all-time high in Half-Blood Prince when they began a romantic relationship. Even though Harry put that relationship on hold indefinitely, most fans still expect to see plenty of Ginny in the seriesâ final installment. But what about the rest of Harryâs schoolmates? At the end of Half-Blood Prince, Harry tells Ron and Hermione, âIâm not coming back [to Hogwarts] even if it does reopen. â 1 Because Harry, Ron and Hermione will be busy tracking down Voldemortâs Horcruxes for a significant portion of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, itâs quite possible that we the readers will see very little of Harryâs peers.

Since he was unable to attend, a piece of wood was sent in his place to collect the award and pose with fellow stars - nobody noticed the difference. Emma Watson scooped the award for best actress, defeating rivals including Dame Judi Dench, Eva Green, Kirsten Dunst and the lovely Keira Knightley. Members of the audience soon got used to hearing the words "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix", as every subsequent award was given to that movie, including the award for the best animation, which many felt should have gone to either the Simpsons Movie or Shrek the Third. The awards were presented by unknown actor and comedian Alexander Armstrong, who was described by witnesses as "in a daze" and "as though he were being controlled by someone else". Rowling had been seen waving Daniel Radcliffe at him earlier and muttering something like "Imperio", one unnamed witness said.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix scored a hat-trick of gongs at the show at London’s Royal Festival Hall and Daniel Radcliffe has his adoring fanbase to thank for the movie’s success. The winners in every category were chosen by the public, who sent in votes via text, the internet or by filling in forms at UK cinemas. The fifth film in the Potter series won best family film, while 18-year-old Radcliffe pulled off a surprise win in the best male category, pipping Casino Royale star Daniel Craig to the post. Radcliffe’s co-star Emma Watson grabbed the prize for best female actress, overcoming an esteemed list of nominees. Seventeen-year-old Watson admitted that scooping the award ahead of Dame Judi Dench, Keira Knightley and Eva Green was a huge surprise.

She also couldnât have known how many lives she would impact with her stories. The Harry Potter books have most certainly touched my life. I have been thinking about writing this essay ever since I got back from Lumos; when we got the title to the seventh book and shortly afterwards we got the release date, I knew I had to get this essay in soon. I felt that I needed to write about how Harry Potter has influenced my life. I wanted to share my story about how reading the Harry Potter books and being a part of the Harry Potter fandom has helped me through some difficult times. I really wanted to say thank you to Jo for writing Harry Potter because it has been such a positive force in my life.
