” He added: “I have to take a long view and this project is a chance to capture people at a particular moment in their career who are going to turn out to be achievers over a longer period. ” Nairne chose the subjects with Jenny Dyson, European editor of Teen Vogue; Emma Hardy, the photographer; and Terence Pepper, curator of photographs at the gallery, which is off Trafalgar Square in central London. Some of the teenagers have already achieved fame, including Lily Cole, the 18-year-old model, and Daniel Radcliffe, 17, star of the Harry Potter films. Others were picked out by the selection committee for the promise of future success. They include Catherine Banner, 17, a novelist from Cambridge, who has just signed her first book deal; and Shanaze Reade, a 17-year-old BMX rider from Leeds who has been picked out as a possible medal winner at the 2012 Olympics. Some of the selections may be seen as surprising. Dizzee Rascal, the rapper, is already 21, but was chosen for his achievements as a teenager — he won the Mercury music award at the age of 19.
